The mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas calls us to spiritual and moral revival by Scott S. Powell          After getting over the pain and grieving of the Uvalde, Texas school shooting, many people and so-called experts have weighed in—offering more of the same old responses that have followed other similar tragic incidents. Most predictable are the demands for more gun control, but there are also appeals to improve and reform police and law enforcement response practices, restrict entrances to schools, employ armed guards at schools or even train and arm teachers.       Of course, everybody knows that it is not guns that commit murders of innocents, but rather estranged and deranged people who wield the firearms and pull the triggers. Even if it were possible to eliminate guns, mal-adjusted and hate-filled people will still find other ways of wreaking havoc and destruction on others.      ...
The Robb Elementary School mass shooting should not be used to               chip away at the Second Amendment   by Scott S. Powell      It goes without saying that mass shootings, like the recent one in Uvalde, Texas, are always accompanied by emotional appeals for gun control, as though we don’t already have extensive gun control laws and as though guns are the problem and not the criminals and deranged people who go on killing sprees.         Before tragedies such as the loss of 20-some lives at the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas become politicized we are called to grieve and pray for the families and community affected. Then we are called to ask whether existing gun control laws already on the books are being enforced. It is important to enforce existing laws before we pass new laws. We do not ban automobiles or driving because we have accident...
Memorial Day 2022:   Saving the Future by Remembering the Past by Scott S. Powell       Memorial Day is a profound American holiday because it connects the present with so many different points of our past. It was originally known as Decoration Day, a day set aside to honor those who lost their lives in the Civil War—America’s most costly war, taking the lives of at least 620,000 men. Among American holidays, Memorial Day is unique also in that it originated from the vanquished, not the victor.         After the war was over, women from the South—Columbus, Mississippi and Richmond, Virginia—set out to decorate with flowers the gravesites of their fallen Confederate soldiers. But they became so moved in the process that they decided to equally decorate the gravesites of Union soldiers buried alongside their loved ones. That expression was profound for it showed an amazing forgiveness toward even...
Biden Administration Seeks to Subordinate U.S. Healthcare Crisis Management to the WHO   by Scott S. Powell         The Biden administration’s government against the people is visibly self-evident in burdens placed on American citizens from the open southern border, the high cost of fuel from the willful loss of U.S. energy independence, the disgraceful and hasty withdrawal from Afghanistan that unnecessarily cost American lives and surrendered some $80 billion in U.S. military equipment, and out-of-control federal deficit spending, debt growth and economic  mismanagement resulting in high inflation and heightened risk of a U.S. dollar collapse.        Now the Biden regime has facilitated the next critical stage toward the ‘Great Reset’ to be potentially consummated May 22-28, 2022. That is when the 75th World Health Assembly led by the World Health Organization (WHO) will be convening in Geneva, to vote on amend...
Disinformation Governance Board Furthers our Present Orwellian Matrix by Scott S. Powell        The Biden administration’s announcement of creating a new ‘Disinformation Governance Board’ reveals desperation in the face of Americans waking up to overwhelming evidence of coverup and deceit by mainstream and social media on life and death matters. First, people are coming to realize the truth behind the so-called Covid-19 pandemic, with all the attendant life-threatening bad advice and loss of Constitutional freedoms and rights that took place. Second, people are now seeing documentary proof of undeniable evidence of industrial scale vote fraud that drove an illegitimate result in the November 2020 elections.         Many have drawn parallels between Biden’s ‘Disinformation Governance Board’ and George Orwell’s ‘Ministry of Truth,’ arguing that it’s a threat to First Amendment free speech. But wait. Haven’t we already been...

Mounting U.S. Debt and Misguided Foreign Policy Risk a Dollar Doomsday by Scott S. Powell      The U.S. dollar is getting perilously close to losing its status and the world’s reserve currency, and there is less room than ever for error on the international stage. Blunders in U.S. foreign policy are likely to have more harmful effects on both our allies and our enemies than in the past given the sorry record of the Biden administration.   Should the U.S. dollar be knocked out of its position as the reserve currency, hell would break lose across global markets.         With recent memories of  Biden’s humiliating and bungled withdrawal from Afghanistan, there is less confidence in the reliability of the United States from our allies, and far less respect and fear of the United States from our enemies. It’s self-evident that the powers behind Biden favor prolonging the Russia-Ukraine war, rather than promoting an e...
Elon Musk: Free Speech is Essential to a Functioning Democracy By Scott S. Powell            Elon Musk, the richest man in America and the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, said last week that “free speech is essential to a functioning democracy.” When he took on Twitter, saying that “the social media platform was failing to adhere to the principles of freedom of expression,” many wondered what’s up.       Then on Monday this week it was reported that Musk had put his wallet where his mouth is, buying nearly a 10% ownership of Twitter—a stake worth $3.6 billion and more than four times larger than founder and director Jack Dorsey’s position.   Speculation has ensued that Musk might seek more than a board seat to gain control of Twitter so as to make it a truly free speech platform.   Musk has said numerous times that he is “a free speech absolutist.”       Well, it’s abou...
